Goa, located on the western coastline of the Indian subcontinent, is one of the most thriving and vibrant tourist hubs of India. Lined by golden beaches where the mountain ranges meet the Arabian sea, Goa is also the land of culture, spiritualism and culinary delights marked by the fusion of ancient Indian tradition and Portuguese colonial culture. Steeped in history dating back to prehistoric times, Goa was under Portuguese control from the early 16th century and attained full statehood in 1987.
